This section discusses how to manage Default Program Goals within the Programs tab in the Manage section.
For information on creating Goal Templates, please refer to Creating and Editing Goal Templates.
NOTE: It is possible to automate the creation of Goals for repetitious programs. Some programs require the exact same Goals, and the creation of these Goals must be replicated when creating the programs—which can make program creation tedious and time-consuming. The ‘Automated Provisioning’ feature saves time by eliminating the need to manually configure Goals (as well as Services/Service Items, Documents, and Chart Fields) when setting up such programs. Note that you must first set up the Goals (process described below) before applying Automatic Provisioning.
Program Goals are useful tools for tracking and documenting progress within a Program. In many cases, clients must reach certain Program Goals in order to exit the program.
Creating a Goal
To create a Default Program Goal, go to Manage > Programs, mouseover the program you wish to modify, and select the ‘Edit’ link that appears to the left.
This will take you to the Modify Program screen.
Scroll down to the Default Goals section, and select the ‘Add New Goal’ link.
A popup box will appear. Select the desired goal from the menu.
Select ‘Add’ to implement the Default Program Goal.
The Default Program Goal will now automatically accompany any program enrollment. In the example below, ‘Obtain Permanent Housing within 90 days’ now automatically appears in the Goals tab upon enrollment.
Notice that you can also add a new goal from within the client record by selecting the ‘Add Goal’ link. This will allow you to add any client-specific goals.
Summary of Actions
If a Default Program Goal is configured, a Summary of Actions popup box will automatically appear upon program enrollment. This notifies the end user that the goal(s) have been automatically assigned.
Deleting a Goal
To erase a Default Program Goal, go back to the Modify Program screen, mouseover the Default Goal, and select the trashcan icon. This will permanently delete the goal.
