In Clarity Human Services, an Agency represents an entity that is operating one or more programs. It is inclusive of Organizations, defined in the FY 2020 HMIS Data Standards as "organizations operating one or more projects that enter data into HMIS, as well as any residential continuum projects not participating in HMIS". Programs, Staff Members, and all client data exist within the framework of Agencies.
In contrast to System Setup, where setting configurations impact the entire System (all Agencies and Staff), Agency Management settings are specific to a single Agency.
The Manage section can be accessed by navigating to the Launchpad icon in the top right and selecting the Manage icon, as shown below.
Once in the Agencies main screen, you will see several options. You can create a new agency, modify an existing agency, or switch to another agency.
Searching for an Agency
You can search for an agency using the search bar at the top of the screen. Notice that you can narrow your search by selecting an agency status from the dropdown menu. When searching for an agency, System Administrators within systems with multiple CoCs can further target their search using the CoC sort criteria.
If creating a new Agency, select Create New Agency on the top righthand corner of the center screen. Be sure to first search for the Agency, to prevent creating duplicates.
This will take you to the Create A New Agency screen, which contains the fields in the Overview tab. For more information on how to complete this section, see Configuring the Agency Overview. Instructions for completing each section of an Agency's information are available as their own articles in the Agency Management section.
Modifying an Existing Agency Overview
To modify an existing agency overview, go to Manage > Agencies. Hover over the agency and select the Edit icon that appears to the left.
Once in the Agency Overview screen, you will find the same fields as those mentioned above. But notice you can also select a Navigation Profile and Default Profile from the dropdown menus.

Select Save Changes to save the new agency information.
As a System Administrator, you may need to switch between agency systems. To do this, navigate to Manage > Agencies. Then simply select the Switch link located to the right of the agency title.
This will automatically switch you to the selected agency’s system.
