This section discusses how to create Agency Exceptions.
An Agency Exception can be created when you need a particular agency to have sharing settings that differ from the Sharing Default settings. To learn about Sharing Default settings, please refer to Working With Sharing Defaults.
Agency Exceptions can be created for individual agencies (discussed here), as well as groups of agencies using Sharing Groups. Using Sharing Groups, System Administrators can assign separate Sharing Groups within Clarity Human Services, allowing these separate network groups to have further autonomy within the system. This eliminates the need to create multiple individual sharing exceptions for multiple agencies.
Creating Agency Exceptions
To create Agency Exceptions, go to Manage > Sharing, and see the Agency Exceptions section of the screen.
To add an Agency Exception, select the ‘Add Exception’ link.
This will take you to the Add Sharing Exceptions screen. Select the agency you wish to modify from the dropdown menu.
After selecting the agency, you can customize each of the remaining data fields. For detailed descriptions of each data field, please refer to Working With Sharing Defaults.
Once you have completed each data field, select ‘Add Record’ to save the exception.
Editing Agency Exceptions
To modify Agency Exceptions, go to Manage> Sharing, and navigate to the Agency Exceptions section. Then mouseover the agency and select the ‘Edit’ link that appears to the left. This will take you to the Modify Sharing Exception screen.
You will notice that the Modify Sharing Exception screen has the same data fields as the Add Sharing Exception screen. Therefore, the same instructions for adding an Agency Exception apply to modifying a Sharing Exception.
For detailed descriptions of each data field, please refer to Working With Sharing Defaults.
