On the right-handside of the main window you have two tabs, Structure and Data. Select Data. Within its window right click on Data Sets > JDBC.
In the new window (JDBC Datasource Window) on the left side (Connections list) click on the + button. In the window that just opened fill up the following information :
- Connection name : Clarity
- Connection Type : MySQL
- Access : JNDI
- JNDI name : Clarity
- Use Result Streaming Cursos : Checked
Click test, if successful ok. Else look at the error report to find why it didn’t work.
Defining a query
On the right side of the JDBC datasource window, one can make queries available to populate its report.
Click the + button, in the Query Name section give a meaningfull name to your query, then enter the query. Preview it and if it works click ok.
Display the query’s data
On the data tab on the right side, under your query name you should be able to see the different fields you selected.
Simply drag and drop them to the Details section of your report. After that hit the Eye button on the top left corner to visualize it.
