Within Outreach, you can filter your view by clicking the Data Filter icon.
Selections made within the Data Filter are retained, even after logging out.
The “Time Scrubber”
The Period (weeks/months), or “Time Scrubber,” filter allows location data from a specific time period to display in Outreach.
Selecting a period other than “Today” displays location data as it appeared at the specified time. Any locations recorded after that time do not display.
When using the “Time Scrubber,” The Time Threshold for the location type is applied to the filter. In other words, if a time threshold of “2 weeks” is in place for a location and a “Time Scrubber” filter of “1 month ago” has been applied, only locations recorded within the two weeks leading up to one month ago display on the map.
Data Type Filters
Individuals
Toggling on Individuals in the Data Filter displays client locations not included in encampments, recorded from the Location tab, service items, and geolocation fields. The locations are displayed based on the Individual Location Filters settings configured in Outreach Settings.
Encampments
Toggling on Encampments in the Data Filter display user-defined geographic areas designating where a group of persons is located (Encampments). Each encampment displays the number of persons in the encampment in the Encampment icon. Clicking the encampment displays the Encampment Profile and the persons within the encampment on the map.
Persons
Client locations included in the encampment, recorded from the Location tab, service items, and geolocation fields. The locations display based on the Individual Location Filters settings configured in Outreach Settings. Persons in the encampment display when you click on the encampment.
Show and Restore Deleted Encampments
In addition to selecting whether the map displays individuals, encampments, or both, system administrators can choose to display deleted encampments on the map by clicking Recover Deleted Data.
They will then choose the date range to view deleted encampments for.
Toggling on Show Deleted Encampments displays only deleted encampments. These deleted encampments display in gray.
To restore a deleted encampment, click the Encampment icon, click the Gear icon, and click Restore.
Functionality Limitations when Viewing Deleted Encampments
Users cannot create new encampments when viewing the Outreach map with Show Deleted Encampments toggled on in the Data Filter.
Map Layers
You can filter the map to display Map Layers.
While users can view the map with multiple layers enabled, only one layer can be the Active Layer. When viewing the Outreach map with multiple Map Layers toggled on, information displays about the Active Layer.
Search Outreach
You can search the Outreach map by address, encampment UID, client UID, or the encampment Name. The system automatically determines the search type.
Address
When searching by address (including landmarks and cross streets), the system checks if this address is part of an encampment. If it is, the encampment location displays on the map along with the Encampment Profile.
If the address doesn’t belong to an encampment, the map displays the address location and any encampments within a half-mile radius. If there are no encampments within a half-mile radius, the system shows the three closest encampments beyond a half-mile radius.
Encampment UID
When searching for a valid encampment UID, the encampment displays on the map with the Encampment Profile.
Encampment Name
When searching by encampment Name, if there is a matching encampment, it displays as a Match by Name result. Clicking Go navigates you to the encampment.
Client UID
When searching by client UID, if the client has a location on the map as an Individual, the map displays the location and shows the Individual icon. Similarly, if the client UID is within an encampment, the location displays on the map with the Persons icon, and the results display the name of the encampment. A star icon displays next to the encampment the client belongs to.
If more than one encampment is associated with a search term, you can filter the encampment results for active or inactive encampments.
